Aggghh! hate scottish power but they are always cheapest for our consumption (E7)
Switched 2 wks ago to their March 2015 tariff, managed - after a wek of hanging on the phone to speak to an advisor and got my DD reduced from £144 to £136 to take account of a credit on the account and using bang up to date readings -all seemed well.
Now they haven't taken my DD due on 1st nov and when I log in to my acct it says my DD is £152.71 despite me having had an email confirming that it will be £136.
Been on the phone for over an hour trying to speak to someone. How can they be allowed to get away with this dreadful level of service? I see on their fb page there are desperate people suffering financially because of their ineptitude and inability to contact them.
Seems as if they're in meltdown.

Are you sure they are the cheapest for you ? Lots of price changes at the moment so keep checking. If you're not happy with the DD, switching is the ultimate solution, then you can start again with a new company with a DD you like.
They're in melt down because they miscalculated with the latest rises and lots are switching away.0 -
Yes, I regularly do comparisons using accurate consumption readings inc the correct day/night split for the E7 and joined the MSE energy club but they are always cheaper sadly and have been for a long time.
The govt should put pressure on the companies to provide a good service. Not everyone has time to spend hours on the phone trying to sort out Scottish Powers mistakes and why should we have to?
Finally got through after over an hour - started ringing at 8am when they opened. Blamed usual computer glitch for both things so I've paid the missing DD as they say it's cancelled so wont claim it - if they do I'll reclaim it through the DD guarantee.
I do feel sorry for the poor advisers dealing with unhappy customers.0 -
I have just set this account up for the sole purpose of venting my rage about Scottish Power somewhere it can be seen. I have had the most terrible experience from the beginning. Culminating in a 50 minute wait on hold before eventually getting cut off! Ahhhhh! and also trying to log in to my account and the website goes down about 70% of the time! Ahhhhh! And after four months of having requested to be there customer I still get a bill from British Gas for this period for over £250! Ahhhh! and then British Gas tell me there has been no request for my supplies - and Scottish Power have charged me £99 for absolutely nothing and will not get back to me Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks people.
