Wi-Fi TV Signal ?

Please bear with me if this is a silly question. In these days of wi-f, is it yet possible to get a tv signal to the tv set without having to connect a co-axe cable?. We use BT as our service provider, and have a home hub router.

    It is not possible.
  • Assuming you have a smart TV with wifi capability, then you could use the smart function to watch catch-up TV through the wifi, including ITunes.

If your TV has wifi capabilities.
What is the make and model of your TV as you can buy a dongle to use with some TVs.

Of course it is! You could take the video output from a computer and use a DVI or HDMI or SCART cable instead of a co-axial one.

    How about an AV sender?

The OP hasn't really fully defined what is required or what they mean by TV signal.

Assuming this is a question about broadcast Freeview TV...

Yes video senders can replace a coax but you still need an aerial and coax plugged into the equipment that you are using to convert the TV signal into a video and audio signal.

Smart TV is mostly catch up TV or subscription TV/Sport/Movie services.
  • I don't have an external aerial, relying on cable TV.
Have been looking into ditching my TV package, and came across
TV Now, ordered the box for £9.99 and free one month trial to Sky Movies.
Seems pretty good, uses wi-fi to stream programs.
Different monthly subscriptions which can be added/cancelled anytime.
    Quidco too
