used car or Car leasing 20 (nearly 21) year old
hi how does car leasing work? looking to get a car, such as vauxhall corsa, for arounf £4000, plus insurance comes to £1400 per year... heard about the Just add fuel by peugeot which seems better as ill have a new car for 3 years and end up spending same amount over the three years, considering road tax/insurance/service etc
but on their website it says you have to be atleast 21 and have had license for 2 years with 2 years NCD, plus it is alot expensive for a 21 year old... compared with he same car for an older person
are there any other deals like this? or any other car you would recommend?
had license for 3 years, (not had a car or insurance yet)
need 5 dr
about 3000-4000 miled per anum
cheap road tax (corsa has £30 on their diesel 1.3)
most importantly cheap insurance

Get yourself an old mondeo as a first runaround while you build up your ncd, probably cheaper to insure than a corsa and you wont mind when you prang it as you learn to drive in real life. Wont be as cheap on tax and fuel but 60-80 miles a week is minimal anyway.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

as above, get a old used car as your first car. you will almost certainly prang it.0

Does it have to be a big car? Could something like a 5 door mk4 Fiesta do you for a year to build up your first NCB?
Mondeos don't seem to be particularly cheap on the insurance, not expensive, but certainly not the cheapest car.0 -
The down side to these leasing deals is, you spend all that money, but have nothing to show for it, at the end of the lease.
At least when you buy, you get to keep the car.0 -

Leasing works if you change your car every three years or so - and many do.
"Having something to show for it" isn't really a benefit if you're then going to have the hassle (and cost) of moving it on when you want or need something new.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Leasing your first car is not a good idea, the companies are fairly strict on any damage when you return them.
I'm not just taking about big bumps, it's the little things that add up, kerbed alloys, small bumper scruffs. Nothing to worry about on an older owned car, but a lease company with sting you for hundreds.
Also some good advice is not to get too hung up on the annual VED (1930s road tax), it's almost insignificant in the long term.0 -

This is, of course, correct but Broken Britain wants a new car as soon as that last payment is made.0 -
And long may it continue, because it means us lesser mortals can have decent used cars, instead of clapped out sheds.
One of the best moves the government ever made, in relation to the car industry, was to go to 6 monthly Reg Numbers.0
