Much as I may sympathise, I don't think you understand. The staff and the customers do not pay the company you work for your wages, and they also do not pay your wages. The security company you work for has a client and that client has terminated the security service. So there is no job for you at this site because there is no contract for your company to work on. Your employer may or may not be a caring employer - but they have no contract to provide a service at the site you work on so they cannot magic up a job there for you. They haven't done anything wrong! You are blaming them for something that isn't their fault.

they say they don't need it but as it is a large diy retailer the theft is still there most of the other employees want me stay I want to stay I and most of the customers that I regularly help want me there this what my boss had to say: further to our meeting the changes are required in that XXXXX no longer wish to have a security presence at SXXXX and CXXXXXX from the 1st of December. They however are keeping 90 hours at their CXXXXXXXX Store, and as such I met with you to discuss your thoughts as to a potential move as you live within a reasonable travelling distance to that store. I am unable to sadly match your existing rate as each site has a fixed pay rate decided by the client. I am happy to record your issue, but I do point out the mobility clause that is contained within your contract to assist both parties in redeployment in an event such as this where the hours are soon to be no longer required at your existing store/site.
not much good to me shows you how much large business cares
about us small fish. I still don't have much I can do is there
There still maybe theft but unfortunately they don't see your company as value for money anymore so are withdrawing this cost away. Or the company have done a great job and theft has reduced so much its not required for a bit.

How many thieves have you caught in the last year and what was the value of goods saved?

  • Sorry sapman but I would suggest you take the new job, it's better to lose a few quid a week than all the shifts.
My hubby has the same problem, at this time of year he is lucky to get 3 shifts a week and that doesn't pay the rent either.
It is easier to find other work if you are in a job (not redundant) but he's been checking around and there isn't much going at the moment, in fact he just told me tonight about an ex colleague who moved to another retailer (might be the same as yours) who is now only getting 8 hours a week.
    Best wishes.
    xx
