To be honest I think they've covered the bases if they've offered you redundancy if you prefer not to accept the change of job. You'll need to see the terms of the redundancy offer to decide whether it's worth taking but if you've only been there two years you can't expect to get a big pay off, so you may be better off taking the job but looking for a new one that is better for you.

Sorry OP but it looks like they are doing nothing wrong but on top of losing £4 ish per week you will also need to find extra for your transport costs, are you fit enough to cycle that far or can you ride a motorbike/scooter? If I was in your shoes I would accept the move but start looking for another job.

20 miles for the average person takes 2-3hrs to cycle, and for that kind of distance, OP is likely to come across a motorway/dual carriageway where vehicles are moving at 50+ mph.

I travel 20 miles to work sometimes using my vespa, and one of my colleagues who lives local to me cycles in quite often (no way on this planet I would do it), there's always an optional route to the motorway.

And as OP works in security he/she is likely to be doing 12 hour shifts, so spending that amount of time travelling to/from work is not feasible.

I agree with the other posters OP, there's not much you can do about it other than look for another job. My OH works in security and he's been messed about so many times by various security companies in the past.

Best of luck OP, hope you manage to find something else soon.

should they have given me 28 days that is what I have been advised by 1 of the manageress's I have to start at the other site by
    nov 25th.

what do you have to have happen to get to take a company to tribunal for lesser terms as I did this before and won although I don't think my wife would want to go though all the stress of it again.

Not going to bike it not that fit it would kill me and I would not drive all way from near braintree to chelmsford and late at night on a bike

I think we are getting off the subject with bikes!

OP, if your job is redundant then there is nothing unfair in making you redundant - or in offering you another job (whatever the job) for you to decide if you want it or not. If it is a genuine redundancy at your site, then you can take or leave the other job if it is unreasonable for you to take it. But I think you have missed the fact that a tribunal will now cost you £1200 to do, and you haven't actually shown you have a case. If your job is redundant, it's redundant. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
  • the job is still needed the thieves just didn't and w'ont go away they are making my life worse and harder than it already is. How is that fair

If as you say the job is still there then why are they moving you? is someone else taking your place or are they reducing the staff level?

Since you started before April 6th 2012 you don't have to be their for 2 years, only 1.

they say they don't need it but as it is a large diy retailer the theft is still there most of the other employees want me stay I want to stay I and most of the customers that I regularly help want me there this what my boss had to say: further to our meeting the changes are required in that XXXXX no longer wish to have a security presence at SXXXX and CXXXXXX from the 1st of December. They however are keeping 90 hours at their CXXXXXXXX Store, and as such I met with you to discuss your thoughts as to a potential move as you live within a reasonable travelling distance to that store. I am unable to sadly match your existing rate as each site has a fixed pay rate decided by the client. I am happy to record your issue, but I do point out the mobility clause that is contained within your contract to assist both parties in redeployment in an event such as this where the hours are soon to be no longer required at your existing store/site.
not much good to me shows you how much large business cares
about us small fish. I still don't have much I can do is there
