2 days before redundancy "suitable employment" found

Can someone please help! I have been working on fixed tern projects in the NHS for the last 8 years, I was agreed another 18 months funding and then all of a sudden the company funding me dissolved and would not longer pay the 18 months, so I only had 6 weeks left from the original funding. I met with HR etc and they then put me on the redeployment register for 12 weeks (this extended my end date slightly).
Throughout the redeployment period I have had various meeting for potential posts, none of which have been suitable. Now, two days before my end date I have been offered another job, I have basically been told if I don’t take it I will put my redundancy at risk.. The job is a lower band (but it will be protected), the hours are the same, the job is ‘fairly’ similar to what I do now but I was doing the same job about 8 years ago so I feel like it is a step back and I do not fit the criteria 100%, this is also a temporary post and I have been told by the recruiting manager there wont be a post at this grade available after March next year. Do you think I will loose my redundancy if I say no to the post? Is two days long enough to think about the post?

They say it is a suitable alternatve
you don't seem to have much to counter argue.
if the job is short term then the redundancy just happens next time.
read up on counter notice(to late for this one).0 -
If they stick to the rules, they yes you will lose your redundancy if you refuse this job.
You say it is not 100% same as you are on, but as long as your meet the essential requirements of the JD/PS you cannot argue against their logic.
Even if you did not meet ALL the essential requirements, they could argue that with 3 or 4 weeks training you would meet the ER - then again, they win, and you lose your Redundancy.
If your pay is protected, and this post is not permanent, you may find yourself made redundant in a few months anyway - and your redundancy should be slightly more given your slightly longer length of service.
Also, re the short notice - ball is in Employers court, they can come up with a job as you are walking out the door on the final day.

when working in the NHS if you are working on a lower band with protected pay, I thought there was a clause that you had to apply for positions of the band of your wage, and that you should get preferential treatment of you met the criteria to protect public funds or something....
would having a job that may be a bit mundane be better than none?
