Tuition fees

How can I be charged £2000 in tuition fees when I've not even attended uni this year? Will this impact on my fees for years 2 and 3 once I actually return?

I'm sure that the people who know the answers to this sort of question will be utterly exasperated that a person who has made over 8000 previous posts can't be bothered to provide enough information to enable them to give an answer. So to help you out I will strongly advise that you expand your post to explain what has happened to cause SFE to levy a charge when you aren't attending. We could assume that you have dropped out for some reason, but information on whether you attended at all, if you did how long for, and your reason for failing to continue, would be needed.

It won't be SFE who levied any charge, it'll be the university who have told them that is the fee amount. Double check with SFE the information on the suspension notice that your university sent them.

How have you had funding when you're already a graduate - are you on an NHS funded course?

Well whoop-de-do for you, at least here we aren't going to be eaten by a shark, bitten by a deadly spider or snake, and we have some ozone above us to keep away the nasty bits of the sun (sadly the clouds keep away the good bits far too often).

I don't understand how you are saying you have not attended university, but have been paid loan and grant? If you are on some kind of placement, you will still have to pay tuition fees (although they are normally discounted). If you are on a placement, I assume you still have building access and access to facilities? This is what the fee is paying for.

No, I have had this year deferred so never actually attended as I was in hospital when the new semester started. I've missed far too much to catch up plus I'm still quite unwell so it was recommended I defer due to mitigating circumstances and re-apply next year. I know students have fees to pay if they've attended lectures then decide to leave by a certain date but wasn't aware that it would also apply to me.
