Some advice on switching

in Energy
Hi,
I've been trying to follow Martin's advice on switching to a long-term fixed tariff but I'm finding the whole thing a bit confusing - I flew the nest a year ago so this is still all a bit new to me.
I currently rent a one bed apartment with my partner in Manchester - we moved here in July. We are with Southern Electric and our first quarterly bill was £178. We are on an Economy 10 tariff.
I've been trying to find the best deal for us but I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. I've tried the Cheap Energy Club but it doesn't compare Economy 10 tariffs apparently. I have tried putting my details in manually and it threw up an EDF 4 winter fixed tariff for £42 more per year than what we pay now. It also threw up a two winter fixed tariff which will save us £49 a year with EDF.
Is the four year EDF plan the best option? It's more than what we pay now but with price hikes over four years it will be cheaper long term won't it?
I know nobody knows what will happen in the future, just looking for a bit of advice - we're a bit lost!
Thanks.

Unfortunately with E10 your options are very limited, as it's not widely supported. No free lunch, and no free laptop
