UKPC ticket - Scotland

I was shopping today in Dundee at Retail Park, it has 2 hr free parking with ticket. I got a ticket and put on dash. When I returned within 2 hrs I had a ticket on windscreen - it appears my ticket had blown off dash onto floor before all car doors had been closed. I found an attendant who hadn't issued ticket but advised I appeal and submit ticket and a receipt from time shopping. However looking on here it seems as though perhaps I should ignore the ticket....Advice please on what I should do?

As things stand at present, ignore is an appropriate response in Scotland and NI (but definitely NOT in England and Wales).
In Scotland and NI the PPC needs the driver's details to proceed; without them, they can't, and guess who holds those details?
But just keep in touch with the forum as your PCN proceeds, in case there are alternative strategies that present themselves over the coming weeks. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yep, if you just search this parking forum for a keyword like 'Dundee' or 'Scotland' using the 'search this forum' heading on the right on page one of the threads here (next to forum tools) you will find this covered lots of times.
You can also Google 'Watchdog how to deal with private parking tickets' and have a laugh at the youtube video of a programme with a solicitor showing you what to do with such a ticket. His advice still applies in NI and in Scotland, since you do not have an appeals system and only the driver can possibly be considered liable (therefore you never divulge the driver of course!). Hence it is best to stay schtumm!
ANY NEWBIES READING THIS PLEASE BE AWARE THAT 'IGNORE' IS ONLY THE RIGHT ADVICE FOR SCOTLAND AND NORTHERN IRELAND NOW IN 2013.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
