Electric oven vs combination microwave running cost

I've recently bought a combi microwave, and am basically using it instead of my oven/grill on my main electric oven.
Hubby has made a comment saying our electric bill will soar with me using the microwave all the time.
I bought it thinking it may cut the bill a little. does anyone know whay the cost comparison it?

Your combi microwave will cost a lot less to run.Its smaller than a main oven and so heats up quicker. Only time it might cost more to run will be if you have a lot to put in and the combi will not fit every thing in so will be on longer.0

Thanks, that was what I was thinking. I often just put in say fish fingers for the kids using the grill mode, or cook a ready meal in the convection mode so it's often 'small' things.
I even cooked pasta in the microwave for the first time! lolI Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
You should get one of those things that tell you how much electric you are using. Put on your main oven and you can see how much its using and then put on combi there be a huge difference.
I gave up cooking anything in microwave since those school kids fed house plants with microwaved water cooled down and the plants died ! the plants fed with normal water survived.0
