access problems

not sure if these 2 questions are in the right place but couldn't decide where to put them so feel free to move them

1st question can 1 parent get a child a passport without the signature of the other? my oh is currently in process of getting divorced but as far as we are aware the dicree absolute hasn't gone through yet

2nd one without going down the route of getting the courts involved(yet) what options are open to a dad trying to get access to his child.oh's ex is being v difficult in allowing him access we only live about 4 miles away and she will only let him see his daughter at times she knows he can't (he works nights etc) but comes up with loads of excuses why he can't see her on days he hasn't got to sleep.

If the Child was born after 2003... I think both parents have Parental Responsibility.... if the Child were born before this, the Mother can get it done on her own.

Who wants to get the passport - the childs mum or dad?
  • oh worried that her mum is planning to get one he's not trying to stop her going on hol etc just wants to know what is going on etc she was born sept 2003

My hubbys ex got their daughter a passport and didn't require his signature she was born in Feb 00 and born in a marriage so he had automatic parental responsibility.

As for the access issue can't really help with that I have posted something similar in the past and some people examine and twist your every word there are lots of very helpful people here and they will most likely tell you to go and see CAB or a solicitor there is little else you can do with a difficult ex and some will continue to make life difficult even after court awards access

My ex applied to renew our daughter's passport but came back to him to say that he couldn't do so without my permission. I had to write to them saying I agreed. Born in 1992 and we were married then.
  • hi there

i got my dd pass port with out the fathers signiture born 1993
with the other question i dont think you will get any where unless the mother agrees's and by the sound of it she wont
is it the cost of a solicitor?
