No MAC. code can I switch home phone without it

I only left BT on October 22nd, but had a letter last week saying how much they will be refunding me, having charged a month's line rental from 28th.

BT won't send you a final bill until after your phone line is cancelled, as you could make chargeable calls before leaving.

I asked BT for a mac code 5 days ago. Got a text to say they are working on it. Jeeze how difficult can it be BT?

Not difficult at all, but they are allowed 5 working days and that is what they will take, in the hope that the delay will change your mind.

They should be able to give the MAC number over the phone straight away, I think they're just being difficult.

I had to call twice a week apart. First time they said they would email it out, but when I called again it was clear they hadn't done anything, but did give it to me over the phone the second time. Perhaps it's some delaying tactic?
