you can teach an old dog new tricks - it takes a lot longer though! I think you are getting there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as for how many wees - are you SURE there isn't some bladder problem or does he have the doggy equivalent of a prostate problem? because this sounds excessive even for an older dog?

as for tonight - its fireworks night and even if he cant hear them, he can smell them or feel the vibrations.
  • Thank you for your support tonight folks I am just a bit tired tonight. I think I took him outside to the toilet about ten times during holby city and got three wees on the floor ,then we had a 45 minute rest while he snuggled on the sofa and now he is going to the toilet again end is unsettled. I will see how he is tomorrow but I think it may be another vet trip.:(
He does have an enlarged prostate , which is why he has had pills to chemically castrate him , as the vet thinks getting rid of some of his testosterone will help with this but tonight has been unusually bad which makes me think maybe he has got another infection. However as you say it could be the fireworks although he has not appeared to show any reaction to even the loudest but I think something is upsetting him. I shall go to bed now and tomorrow is another day.:)

jeez - I would be seriously considering a 'nappie'! That amount of 'wees' is definitely not normal!
good night, and hope you don't get up to a 'lake of wee' tomorrow!

There must be something wrong with him. No normal entire male dog goes outside does a number of wees and then has a huge wee left to pass.
  • Morning update. Overnight he has had a normal for him count of 3 and mostly on the newspaper we left out!
