Samsung Backup Drive

I have had my samsung backup drive for a few years. A few months ago I had to take my pc to get fixed at my local computer shop. The pc repair man installed windows 7 (I'd previously had vista).
I don't think my samsung back up drive is working properly. I've had a look at the samsung online manual and it says
"* Caution : When you install the Auto Backup program on the windows 7, you should run the "AppInst.exe" manually in Samsung External Hard Drive.
The Windows 7 does not support the Autorun function."
I can't find "AppInst.exe" on my pc and not sure where its safe to download it from on the internet. Can anyone please advise?

The appinst.exe should be on the Samsung drive itself, either in the root (first thing you see when you open the drive) or within a folder called something like 'Samsung Apps'.
Is it the Samsung software you've been using previously for backups?

Thanks for replying. I've been using Samsung Auto Backup. I've just checked and it is still installed on my pc.
The reason I think its not working properly is that one of the options in the Auto Backup software is called "Backup" and its a "greyed out" so nothing happens when I click on it.
I feel like an idiot because I'm not sure I'm using it correctly or if it is working properly and I just don't realise
