How can I track how much old 'penny' shares are worth?

Been having a sort out and found a receipt from Barclays Stockbrokers regarding some shares I bought back in 2000.
I bought shares in the following companies:
Magic Moments Internet (about £200 worth) and
Pacific Media (about £400 worth)
I can't find the certificates (yet) but would be interested to know they are worth anything these days?
How could I track down these shares (if indeed they are worth something)?
Any ideas?

I did hold some shares in them at around the same time, but from what I can remember I lost out on them.
MMI became Host Europe and the listing was cancelled on AIM in 2004

Pacific Media became ResponzeTV Plc but appears to have stopped trading around 2008

Look at the links as a starting point in tracing what happened to them0 -

Magic Moments Internet Plc became Host Europe Plc but in April 2004 was bought out by Pipex and was then delisted. Therefore I would assume that you are due cash but you would need to contact the former registrar to sort that out. Look here: theregister.co.uk/2004/04/02/pipex_acquires_host_europe/
Pacific Media Plc became ResponzeTV Plc and was restructured in 2006. It has ceased trading and was struck off and dissolved in May 2009. Have a look at this hotstocked.com/stock/responzetv-plc-retv-message-427412.html0 -
Try Google.
A summary of what I found..
MMI sold to PIPEX in 2004.
PIPEX acquired by Tiscali in 2007
Tiscali acquired by Carphone Warehouse in 2009
Merged with TalkTalk 2010
Pacific Media
Shares worth 0.5p in 2006, then consolidated at ratio of 40 to 1.
Company renamed ResponzTV
Dissolved in 2009
So I guess you could try talking to Carphone Warehouse, but dont book the world cruise yet.0 -
