A gift for Grandmas under £5.

I'm buying for three grandmothers this year - all of different ages, 60's, 70's and 80's. They are all fairly "trendy" for their ages, so white musk or lavender toiletries won't be for them ;) They don't know each other, so to simplify matters (and keep my budget down) I'm trying to buy the same thing. I've already bought them each a necklace/earrings set from Etsy and I just wanted to add something to go with it. I've spotted pashmina type scarves from Ebay as a back up - but I bought two of them something similar last year. Was going to correspond them to the colours of their jewellery.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

A nice photo in a frame?
Of you and kids or you and them or some thing?

Or one of those calendars that vistaprint are always offering for a fiver where you can use your own pictures.

    Xmas Saver!
M&S have their Christmas tree biscuit tin in the sale for £5 this week. It also plays a tune.

Can you knit or crochet? Poundland have wool on 3 for 2 at the moment.

How about a mini hamper of book (there's some lovely grandma appropriate ones in Home Bargains for 99p), a nice cup (you can get cath kidston type print ones for £1) and some biscuits, wrapped up in some cello (you can buy enough to wrap this from a florist for about 50p or get a roll on eBay to last you).

Alternatively you could get some bubble bath and some snuggly slipper socks :)
  • The m&s biscuits are still £10 online does anyone know if they will be reduced online before Xmas or is it only instore
    Thanks

  • I'd look at the 3 for 2 offers as you could stretch your budget in theory as you would only be paying for 2 of the 3 items, or save yourself a little bit and it would only cost you £10 for the 3!

The latest 'Now' album? I know my 60-something year old mum likes up-to-date music so would love dancing to this in the living room with her grandchildren over Xmas.

I also like the candle idea. The White Company and Jo Malone do lovely ones, along with very nice room sprays and hand wash which my children have given to our grannies before.

Or how about some nice chocolate? Hotel Chocolat does some lovely festive items and have a website.

ETA: missed the budget, sorry! Most of these ideas cost more than £5, although you could buy some really nice chocolate for less than that, and as a chocolate lover, that gets my vote!

this yr for my nan I've brought some smellies she asked for then a lovely warm fleece blanket as I know shes always reluctant to turn the heating up as she worries about the cost.

mini hamper of individual size xmas goodies? using 3 for 2 offers and multi packs you could get quite a good selection for £15 then split 3 ways
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
