Need help with new Yahoo mail?

Not many people like change, especially if in our eyes there isn't a need for it. Our friends at yahoo felt they would like to improve something that was working OK, but in doing so, made a lot of people angry and frustrated.

Having spent a great deal of time trying to bring back what I believe is the next best thing to the old style, I have. Rather than take up too much space, if anyone is interested I will, just shout.

There is absolutely no need to get "angry and frustrated" when a provider updates or makes changes to there website.

Use an e-mail client and it stays exactly how you want it to be for decades.

I have only very occasionally used webmail over the years when travelling abroad but now with smartphones webmail is redundant, to me anyway.

Yes, I know that and so do you, but judging from posts read on a variety of forums, some people do get mad. The fact that there are choices to be is fine, but for those who choose to stay where they are (and moan), what I am saying is that with perseverance, you can revert to a layout that is much the same.

I am one who hates the new layout. I don't want emails grouped together if they have the same subject.

And reverting to the "basic" layout isn't a good enough substitute for the old version.

It's already bad enough that half the emails sent from the Yahoo email ends up in the receiver's junk mail, never to be read!

Is anyone else losing emails. I've sent a lot in the last week and I now know some didn't get received.

I'm now going to do what I hate others do, and say, none of mine have failed to arrive at their destination. I know you asked if anyone has experienced none delivery of emails.

I will tell you something though. When entering the email address in "to" and sending the email, some have been returned and that frustrated me, because in the past, this didn't happen.

I discovered this. The new yahoo, doesn't allow autofill, so I had to figure how to beat this. By going to CONTACTS, I copied and pasted an email address and placed in "to", then sent it to DRAFTS. I did this laboriously one after another. At the end, with all of the email addresses in DRAFTS, I removed them from DRAFTS,........BUT, this somehow allowed autofill to work.

You may well think "but what's that to do with the non delivery of emails?".

From my experience, on some of the addresses I was coping & pasting, I made a mistake. Whereas someone's email address was ******@yahoo.com, I somehow removed the m, then thought it was co.uk so when I sent the email to joebloggs @ yahoo.co.uk it was returned because it should have been joebloggs & yahoo.com

As a percentage of total users I suspect you and others who are unhappy are in the minority.

Yahoo has more than 300 million email users and what you have to remember is that the happy majority don't comment or post on forums and a few thousand who do complain are a drop in the ocean.

I think the new Yahoo is excellent, in fact the webmail interface is finally getting some of the functionality that my mail client has had for years. I like to group my mail by conversation/subject.

Why not find a client you like and set it up exactly as you like then it doesn't matter what Yahoo does in the future as it won't change the way your client works.

I actually would never leave Yahoo because it has always worked for me and now that I have made a few changes it still does.

Yahoo must have felt that a small minority might like to do a bit of tweaking for themselves otherwise they wouldn't have made it possible.

With tweaking done, all is well with the world.

PS, and were you to read post 27 from this thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4787584

Clearly this one person appreciated a tip and that's what it's all about, surely?

Whoosh! straight over his head. The OP obviously didn't understand our e-mail client comments and then he wouldn't have anything to whinge about would he.
