Default on credit rating

Hi. I am looking for some advice regarding my credit rating. To cut a long story short - I was having difficulty getting accepted for credit and I have always had a great credit rating. I looked into my credit report and noticed there was 1 default. I contacted the lender and the lender has agreed to remove the default which is currently in process. I was told that the default would take up to 4 weeks to be removed. My question is once the default is removed will my credit rating still be poor that I wont get accepted for credit until I build it back up? Or will I get accepted for credit straight away once default is removed?

Once the default has been removed then any lender searching your file will not be able to see it was ever there.

Whether you will be able to get accepted for credit will depend on what else is on your file and your financial circumstances.

That's great news :jthe default is the only problem on my credit file. I have been trying to move house and its holding me back as my mortgage application got declined. This is the second time I have contacted the lender as the default was not removed the first time. Another error of theirs.
