I agree! This is the one we use already but we get it from home bargains. I looked for it yesterday but the big one near my mums was out. Will try at the smaller one I usually get it from today and stock up. That thread you posted say B&M has it too, which is helpful to know as we have one of them locally as well.I'm a massive fan of Jack Monroe, who I discovered from another forum on here somewhere-she has some great recipes all to suit a low budget.

We switched to Aldi about 18 months ago and I would say this is still our staple food shop. However, I buy bits and pieces from lots of different places if we are nearby to one. I have also bought from Ocado a couple of times recently (you can get some good discount codes when you buy for the first time). I used my supermarket, which means if you are careful it is very comparable and the meat from there is really nice.
The coffee is for my OH, he will drink pretty much anything, so if any recommendations on good cheap coffee let me know. I just had nescafe gold blend down as £4 in Lidl for 200g and it is round the corner
I have got a meal planner template printed:

Also, just done a stock check on herbs/spices etc and have a good range. Could just do with getting some ground coriander as have run out of this.0 -
Yogurt's a goody - easy to make your own, or buy the big pots of plain or Greek, split them down & flavour as needed. Handy for cooking as well as by far the easiest pudding.
I like the idea of making yoghurt! I am sure OH used to have one of those Easiyo things.0 -

OH called at Lidl (on his way to the tip with a car load of rubbish from moving house) as we ran out of milk.
He came back w/- 200g Nescafe Gold Blend £3.99
- 4 pints semi milk £1.00
- 4 cheese rolls £1.00 so first £5.99 gone lol
I found a packet of waitrose strawberry and banana frozen fruit in the bottom of the freezer so dug the blender out and me and my daughter have just made strawberry and banana smoothies (with half a bag of the frozen fruit, milk and a drizzle of golden syrup), really nice! Lots left, so in the fridge. Breakfast drinks sorted for us for a couple of days.
OK, now off to clean the kitchen up and to drag myself out for some exercise ..... :eek:0 -

I only drink real coffee as I think instant is vile but OH drinks Nescafe Gold. He has tried cheaper versions but say they are horrible so it is worth paying out for although we usually try and buy it when on offerThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0
