I am thinking about giving my grandsons my Nexus 7 2012 and upgrading myself to the Nexus 7 2013. I am more than happy with this tablet and don't really wish to consider another make.
I have read quite a few favourable reviews of the 2013 version and it would certainly be handy to have both the forward and rear facing cameras, although I think the quality from the rear facing camera not the best.
Anyone got any strong views either for or against?
Many thanks.

£180 is very cheap. Do you know who is selling at this price? I have seen at just over £200.0 -
Taking photos using a tablet whilst out and about is great, as long as you don't mind looking like an idiot. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

My friend is over the moon with his.
He connected it to his 42" panasonic Viera using a SLIMPORT cable and the tablet outputs HDMI quality - unbelievable for the price.
He likes being able to use the EBOOK functionality and read books on his large TV.0 -
It's a really nice tablet with a big thumbs up from me.
Rear Camera is fine for Skype.
Front camera I've never really used; prefer a DSLR.0 -

HDMI is an interface type, not a quality.
But we know what you mean.

You have them the wrong way round - the front camera is the one YOU see, so is the one used for Skype etc.

Had 4 of them, all had the touch screen issue that can be easily found by a quick google.
Basically ghost presses, it registers multiple fingers touching the screen when it's only one. Makes for a very unpleasant experience.
Ended up giving up, Asus/Google messed up big time, the speakers have an electrical buzzing/muffled sound when the volume is low down (put your ears near to it and you'll hear it as clear as anything... shouldnt be there).
They tried to release a software update to fix the issues but failed so they're aware of them... they should do a recall and sort it properly but won't.0 -

Shame you had a problem. Must say I have found my Nexus 7 excellent and have had it for almost a year.
Edited. Just Googled and see this is an issue with the 2013 Nexus 7. Hopefully they will find a proper fix for it. Might not rush to buy.0
