faulty 2nd hand car brought with credit card

Help

i brought a second hand car last week, 25th Oct from a dealer and paid on my mums credit card, i have since discovered faults on the car, leak in rain water, no spare tyre, central locking not working correctly. i have spoken to the dealer every day, he had said that he would swap the car but keeps coming up with excuses and on the last call he said he was closing the business and has now stopped answering my calls. As a young lad i brought the car on impulse without doing any checks other than to make sure there were no outstanding hp payments. I feel like i am being fobbed off. the car comes with a 15 month warranty with VGS (what does this mean) this is just written on the invoice, no documents. the car is an corsa sxi year 04.

the car was on eBay item number:181242302080.

what are my rights and what can i do. :(

    You bought it through eBay?
  • The lack of a spare wheel isn't an issue as it is not a legal requirement to have one and the ad didn't state that one was included.
The other faults that you mention (water leaks and central locking are things that are annoying but don't affect the roadworthiness of the vehicle and most cars that is getting close to 10 years old will start having faults.
Thigs such as the lack of spare wheel and central locking not working could be classed as having been accepted by you if they were like this when you inspected the car before paying for it.

To be honest, if the warranty is anything like many supplied with used motors, it will cover very little except major components and even these won't be covered it they fail due to general wear and tear.

You won't have any joy with an ebay dispute as vehicles are one of the categories that are exempted from buyer protection.

That listing says it was ended early because of an error in the listing? You didn't buy through eBay, you bought from the showroom?
About 10 cars for sale-no feedback. Is this even classed as a business account?

Not even registered as a business seller. Zero feedback. I would have left that one to someone else.

Warranty on a 9 year old car. Probably covers very little if anything.
Advert says it covers MAJOR PROBLEMS.

The faults you have found are minor issues. Personally i would sort them myself and move on.

Advert carefully worded i think even with the spelling mistakes. 4 good tyres.
No mention of central locking either.

Google his landline number, Several mobiles attached to it.

What an awful advert. How can you buy that on an impulse. It's so poorly written I don't see why you would have though this was. Good idea.

Bought using your mum's credit card?
    How does that work then?

But you are your mum... if one is to believe your earlier posts.
