What time is rush hour in NYC?

Friend need to catch plane from NYC to Heathrow at 10 am in the morning. He is staying in Mahattan in a hoste. What will be the best way for him to travel to the airport? Is it 2 hrs check in ?Thanks

    The airline would be the best place to check this.

    Subway straight to Jamacia, then Airtrain to JFK is dead easy from anywhere in Manhattan.

    Don't bank on 2hrs for check-in though - take longer. Last time I was through, I was expecting a leisurely 2hrs check-in but they were revising the departing flights and I was given the choice of a flight in about thirty minutes, or over five hours away. Only just managed to clear security in time for the flight!

    LIRR to Jamaica is quicker if you are near Penn station.
