I have a set of brand new wedgewood plates, bowls, the works. The design is no longer produced.
Where is the best place to sell something like this?

How much is there, and how much are you expecting to get?
I suspect that eBay is as good as anywhere TBH.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
I would think a bricks and mortar auction house, but depending on pattern it is unlikely to be worth very much at all.
I buy and sell china and rarely touch any modern (ie post 1980) Wedgwood as it sells cheaply at auction (unless a couple of specific patterns) and doesn't sell at all on ebay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That's a popular one in the US, but not quite so popular here. Probably about £100 maximum at a bricks and mortar auction before fees on a good day.
If you have lots of time and are confident in your ability to pack well, then individual pieces on ebay might be worth a try, just watch the postage costs. I would suggest making up trios of cups, saucers and a side plate as an individual lot (you could do a multiple BIN). Then the sugar bowl and milk jug as a lot.
Then work through the plates bowls etc, sell them at an individual price per identical item on a Multiple BIN..and so forth.
You could try one of the china search places, as per your link, but they have only ever offered me pennies for items that they then offer at several pounds a go.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. There is a milk jug here that recently sold for £3.99, the small bits like that always do well as they tend to be used mroe and people break them and look for a replacement:

or even try Amazon as they have the pattern in their catalogue.

Thanks Soolin, that's very helpful!
I was hoping that it had at least kept it's value but it does not seem to be the case...0 -

Unfortunately china has not done well recently, although the market is getting better . I've bought entire Wedgwood tea sets in the past for £5 but now the pretty patterns are going for twice or three times that due to the fad for vintage tea parties.
If yu use Facebook you might even try a search there for local vintage sites as you may get interest. I'm currently looking at a very pretty dinner service, not quite complete though with the view to splitting it for other uses- that's only a Riyal Doulton and they want offers at around £50 but cash on collection so no risk for them. I won't pay that for Doulton but I might be able to negotiate a much better price. If I saw your set on the local Facebook vintage sites I would probably contact you about negotiating a price as it is very pretty.
However, if you have time then I stick with my earlier suggestion of selling each piece separately on eBay. Just watch your packaging and postage costs, and good luck.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Another place to get an idea of price is
http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb
Sometimes it is possible to search for completed lots, but not always (?) and I would treat the estimated prices for forthcoming lots as only a vague price, but it shows what auctioneers believe are popular patterns.
If you look at this one (only a part service) it has a low estimate, but it isn't pretty enough to appeal to the vintage buyers

But the next one is very pretty so has a much higher estimate

Hi soolin, my mum has just given me a 90% complete dinned/tea/coffee service in Royal Daulton Berkshire. I can't decide whether to complete the set and sell my Denby which I now find a bit clunky (Daybreak), sell it as a job lot or split it.
Would you sell as a job lot or split? Time or space don't matter.
ps - I rather like the Wedgewood design

Royal Doulton has lost it's edge a bit, although the designs are pretty the styling is a bit ordinary to appeal to people selling vintage china. There is quite a bit on eBay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/royal-doulton-berkshire
Some is selling on eBay, but again single pieces
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=Royal+doulton+Berkshire&LH_Complete=1&rt=nc
It is probably worth more than Denby. I have 2 sets of Denby in storage in case the market improves and I use some everyday in the house . It is still expensive to buy new but I can't shift it at all second hand, I actually sold a tea set at a loss at a car boot this year, and I only paid £6 for it in the first place.
Edit: one of my sons has a part dinner service in the Doulton Alma pattern as when he bought it it was cheaper than buying in the sale at Ikea. It has actually gone up in price now (check eBay, but note it is too old to be Royal Doulton, just Doulton) but we paid £5 for it. I am tempted to insist he gives it back to me so I can sell it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
