Hi Gang!!
Thanks for starting the thread DNMS!!
So, home from an amazing family holiday in sunny Egypt :cool2: and back to reality! Brrrrr, it's freezing here! What happened?!
So, guess it's time to catch up on life and lists!!! :rotfl: Here goes:Check online banking - all good! DD's all appear to have gone out fine in our absence!
Move money into savings pots - slowly getting there on paying for the next holiday!!!
Wash wetsuits on cool economy wash - hanging on balcony to dry as we speak!
DMIL :A has been round and stocked fridge with milk and fresh fruit, bacon, bread etc for when we got home!
Light wash and dark wash on economy - drying on airers - given in and put heating on for a little while whilst washing dries!
Vacuum pack holiday stuff under bed so fresh and ready for the next trip!!
Pop up allotment, weed and check all ok after terrible weather whilst we were away, oh, and pick some salad to have with dinner!
Clean fish out and collect hamster from DMIL's house!
Working night shift tonight - will take snacks and drinks & share lift in with colleague
Sort budgets and meal plans for November
Edit through some holiday snaps and videos - make our own video rather than paying for very expensive excursion ones!!
Nectar Adpoints - catch up today so it resets tomorrow
Research cheapest place for MOT - might try the council places suggested on MSE as car is only 4 years old, expecting it to pass with no problems! Anyone tried this??
Clean car at work and hoover if all quiet in the early hours - for a Saturday night, wishful thinking maybe?!
DVD night in with OH before work tomorrow - last bit of chill time before she goes back to work on Monday!
Catch up on the threads whilst I've been away!
Think that'll be about it this weekend... I best crack on!
Hope everyone is well, big congratulations to Ally on your promotion, fantastic news!!
Also nice to see lots of newbies on the thread too!! Welcome!
Will catch up properly on Monday when I have some time on my hands! x:T DEBT FREE AS OF APRIL 2013! :T"I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul"0 -
Shopping came in 45p under budget
Park is off as it's wet and windy as are sparklers so spent under £2 on treats for kids instead (as part of grocery shopping)
Leg is hurting now so rest and reading/TV has migrated up the list but second load of washing is on (only 4 or 5 to go) Mini-sprogs were fab while shopping, reading the list and ticking things off and not asking for anything directly (Santa now has a few extras to produce!)
Won't be going out again today so no more spends and plenty to keep me occupied tomorrow. Feeling rather virtuous right nowLBM 17th Oct13 - SC DMP - DFD 10th Feb 2018

Afternoon Weekend Penny savers,
Today's small things....hang on, are there any?
-Updated budgets.
-A free coffee each, free newspaper & their food mag at Waitrose (My Waitrose card)
-Ran washer overnight at 95 deg on Economy 7 tariff with a good wallop of vinegar to give it a clean out. It loosened so much gunk I ran another cooler cycle today to get rid of it.
-Managed ONLY to buy from village farm shop the item we went in for, instead of being tempted by extras.
-Pack picnic for tomorrow's long journey (budget hotel city break) instead of being tempted by pub lunch on route.
-Took cat to cattery & took own food, which reduces cost by 80p per night. Missing him already & we haven't even gone away yet!
-Pack next Christmas present to knit, in case I have any spare time while we're away.
-Print off Pizza Express voucher to take, plus round up other vouchers which might come in useful.
-Enter competition.
-Went through today's junk mail & liberated 4 free freezer bags & a posh tea-bag.
-No heating on till tonight, tho wasn't impressed to find bathroom heater had been left on all morning while we were out. I'll be checking that in future :-/
Right, better go & do a bit of packing.

Evening all,
Had a lovely day in town. Decided to move our Monday treat to today as we both needed cheering up.
The List 2:Bought OH's Christmas toiletries for £2, reduced from £4 in Boots.
Picked-up parcel from delivery office. We ordered one turbo whisk and were sent two! I checked with the seller and he told us to keep the second one. Nice man.
Had our weekly treat: two two-course meals and drinks for £14 in the pub. Plus we were given too many sauce sachets so we liberated the spares and OH got three slices of cold meat on her main course so one of those was liberated too.
Local free bonfire night is going ahead despite torrential rain. Decided not to go as it won't be very pleasant being frozen, drowned and coated in mud on the banks of the river. Petrol saved. Mustn't feel too disappointed as we did have a lovely meal today and probably one of the neighbours will have fireworks that we'll be able to see from the bedroom.
Invested £3 in good quality, highly concentrated handcream instead of keep buying £1 ones that are smurf all use.
Read local paper online.
Didn't impulse buy lovely trousers I saw in Tesco.
Didn't buy friends car from him even though, that too, was lovely and it was dead cheap. We can't afford a second car right now.
Lost enough weight for brown jeans in wardrobe to fit again.
Do own manicure and feeticure.
Treat irritated eyes with home-made saline solution at the instruction of my MSE-style optometrist.
Wrote to Council for bill clarification. They've sent us three different Council Tax bills in the last week.
Don't want to pay more than we have to and there's £50 difference between the lowest and the highest. Used envelope wombled from junk mail, free stamp and label from RoyalMail Surveys.

Happy Sunday everyone!
Yesterday was relatively spendy. My friend stayed over so I had heating on for 2 hours and fire on for 2 hours. Boo. Also had to buy some dinner because weird frugal concoctions in cupboard not really suitable for company.
Today is a new day though
Good dfw things- B/L/D from stores. Definitely.
- Heating off until 7pm (although it has just hailed!)
- Housework/pottering to keep warm
- Bought 3 very cheap (£1.25 each) lidded plastic boxes and tidied my craft cupboard. Bad to have bought boxes but cupboard much better now.
- Listed 8 small items on ebay
- Fitted new windscreen wiper myself
- Treat of hot choc from stores as opposed to buying booze
- Went for a walk in the sunshine to improve mental state
- Had to top up £20 onto the phone OH is using in Brazil. Apparently he thought texts were free?!
I feel a bit shaky and panicky today which is not good for getting anything done. Also I have not heard from OH either last night or this morning, which has annoyed and worried me as I told him I would like him to text just so I knew he was ok. - got a text saying "Thanks hun" in reply to telling him I topped up the phone. Not best pleased.
Will update as day progresses. Have a good one allLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

Decide what I'm definitely going to get OH for Christmas that fits the budget. Really indecisive on this right now. :rotfl:
Investigate moving current account for financial reward.
Do Ipsos Surveys and Nectar AdPoints.

Afternoon guys
Kate_fixing_it well done for saying no to dd. It's not easy but good for childen to see their mother's setting boundaries, helps them when they are older to be able to. Also fab on getting the groceries under budget :T
Still debating whether to take dgd swimming she has been a bit off colour this weekend. Quite grizzly and fussy & a little bunged up. Don't want to take her if she has a cold. Currently she's having a nap so I will see when she wakes up if she's brighter.
Things for today:
* finish the above things.
* make decision re the bathroom tiles
* iron work clothes for next week
* Make some potato & leak soup with YS leaks I got yesterday

Hi everyone, very strange weekend, haven't spent on unnecessary things which is a bonus and didn't spend out on fireworks as took DD for a walk round local area looking for fireworks, was a lovely enjoyable walk in fresh air and exciting when found fireworks. She really enjoyed it! So no spend there!
I started a new diary today, I sort of had a lightbulb moment and decided enough is enough!! So have been busy with getting my plans of weight loosing and debt busting off the ground! Very excited!!
Still need to do a bit of research on electricity consumption for slow cookers and out of interest microwaves! The gas bill is one area I will reduce!!A new year, new month, new focus and new hope - must stay on the right path for my dreams to come true![/CENTER]
It's not all about central heating and spot lights - cherish wrapping up warm and using candles! It's the small things in life!!0
