When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:
Morning  yay it's the weekend :j:T:beer::T:j and I have now made it out of the madness of October - I did my 6 weeks of full on work and now am back to the regular loads to do
so happy it's the weekend and I don't have to work for 2 days
Been up since 6 with "darling" granddaughter & she has now gone back to sleep!
Ziggy that's so lovely that you have much a great relationship with your sd
Perni I did made it to the meeting on time the other day! Madness to have to leave at 8.10 to be a meeting at 9.45!
DFW things for this:
* did some of my end of month accounting/budgeting. will finish off later
* Load of washing & put on the line
* post very dress & a parcel for La E
* worked out my expenses for the last 2 weeks
* Flylady kitchen & spare room
* pack away summer clothes & go through winter clothes
* going for free gym session with oh tomorrow
* buy a sack of potatoes - £5.45 at the moment!
* do a meal plan & shopping list
* going into town later to treat myself to some perfume with expenses
* pluck my eyes rather than get them threaded
* take dgd swimming
* all meals from stores - oh's df is coming for dinner tonight. Need to work out what we are going to have
Ok think that's all I need to do. Have a great weekend guys x

Morning all!
Thanks to DMNS for starting us off
Ziggy - another one to echo that it's lovely that you and you step-daughter are so close. Please don't call your lists feeble, they are good solid habits in a chaotic world
I didn't have the most amazing sleep. Punctuated by VERY vivid dreams. OH texted me at 2.30 to say he had arrived safely in Belo
Today's dfw things- B/D from stores.
- Housework to keep toasty warm
- Search on internet for m-i-l's and nephews' Christmas presents - bought m-i-l's books but am completely baffled by the kids' darts. Need OH to buy them!
- Look for tension rod while in town so I can hang door curtain without drilling into LL's walls!
- Connect phone to mifi as data has run out
- Probably set breadmaker before I go to bed.
- Finished painting s-i-l's Christmas present. Will line it later when dry.
- Plucked eyebrows a la DNMS although will need threading/waxing before my bday in Dec.
- Mended my sock
- Meeting friend in nearest city so will require bus ticket - raid piggy bank to see if enough change
- Lunch with friend - friend not arriving until 1pm so I might have lunch at home, or at least a snack
- If friend comes back to mine, will probably have to whack heating on as she is nesh

Morning all
I started money saving at 2am today! Woke up and dashed downstairs to let the puppy out for a comfort stop :0/. Saves on my kitchen roll and having to mop up the puddles in the morning.
Again at 6.30 am and a dry/clean floor. Well done Bonnie :0)
She is 4 months old now and is getting quite good in the day. Trots out herself if we leave the patio door open a few inches.
Sometimes we have to remind her.
This morning I entered some competitions online. fingers crossed.
Just going to put the washing on the line. Getting up early means the 2 hour wash finishes earlier so more day time online.
Taking puppy for a walk later = free exercise.
Right! time to do the breakfast dishes and a tidy up.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

[STRIKE]
Check banks to make sure all monthly bills have gone out happily
[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]
Money shuffle as milkman wants paid (you mean it's not free?) and I need a new watch strap
[/STRIKE] Money shuffle done but have not got new watch strap yet - might be an Amazon job

Meal plan for week
Today's food from stores (macaroni cheese for tonight's tea as we have a glut of milk)

Heating stays off (even though it's only 3 degrees) but will light wood burner mid to latish afternoon

Wash the woollens including the scarves, gloves etc as I think we will need them next week (dry on horse overnight in front of wood burner)
[STRIKE]
Update bzz agent & royal mail survey sites
[/STRIKE] Done
And that's enough for now - although no doubt will be adding bits & pieces as the day progresses.

My first real weekend as a DFW
Last weekend I was in London with DD1 (but still relatively low spends) and weekend before was DS1s birthday treat of a track day in a ferarri (£40 on photos I still have to repay Dad for!!!)
Already done:
Checked bank
Got soup cooking from dregs of veggie box
Checked ebay - two listings have bids, most have watchers and all end tomorrow
To do:
Grocery shopping £25 budget
Sparklers for mini sprogs in garden tonight £3 budget
Still have martini and lemonade for drinks tonight
Washing and ironing
Studying - finish module with mock exam
Park with kids if weather holds
Clean house so I can let people in
Rest bad leg while reading free books on kindle and watching recorded TV
FINALLY have the pampering bath I've been planning all week (I have been showering so I'm not stinky just haven't had time for a proper pamprr session!)
Call BFF for catch up on landline as it's free all weekend
Check budget to see if I can afford hairdresser later this month (a treat for staying in budget and not been since June!)
set V box for new programmes I can watch next weekend
Research Xmas gift ideas for kids, got a good idea what they want now
Think that should keep me out of trouble until Monday
Edited to add: I just said the N-word to DD2. She asked for a McD later. I said no! This is HUGE for me. She's not even bothered! Just shrugged and said "okay mummy, can we play with play dough then?". *bounces around house with happiness*LBM 17th Oct13 - SC DMP - DFD 10th Feb 2018
