Switched Account & Standing order on old account

Hi Guys n Gals
Just wondered what you thought to this one - if you think I'll get help from bank (sent email waiting reply) - and If not, would FSA or anyone help.
I've recently switched my main current account. I have a standing order on my main account to transfer money to one of my other accounts to separate bills & spending money.
When I switched, all seemed to go okay - my work pay transferred to new account and all my direct debits moved over. My old account never closed down so I cancelled my overdraft with a view to closing it completely in the near future.
Today, I've just got a letter from the old bank stating Standing Order has failed and will get a £25 fee
. Checked Online banking on old account and can see that although they had transferred all direct debits & work pay - the standing order was still active.
I've now cancelled the standing order on the old account.
Am I likely going to be able to get the fee wiped, as surely they should have included standing order in account switch.
Also, Am I likely going to see a negative impact on credit file and am I likely able to get that wiped to keep it clean.
Thanks

How recently did you switch?
Was it since 16th September?
Was it using the 7 day switch guarantee scheme?

If it was, then you would be fully entitled to a refund of that charge.
But it probably wasn't if the account is still open.;)
In which case you would have been responsible for closing the old S.O. You failed.
You could ask the bank if they would consider a goodwill gesture, but as you have dumped them, I guess they may be in short supply of any goodwill towards you now.0 -
Hi,
I switched a couple of weeks before the new 7 day scheme came in,
Funny you chose to reply today - I got my reply from the bank today,
In short, RESULT! They had offered me a goodwill credit
Well Happy
I did envisage what you were saying, so I actually said up to now I had a positive experience and wanted to leave that way - and would consider them for services in future, which I can honestly say I will.0
