How do I go about getting a new font to use with MS Office?
I have the font "Ravie" on my new PC which has given up the ghost and is now all bundled up to go back to the manufacturer. So I'm trying to edit stuff on the 8 year old faithful PC but it doesn't have the Ravie font, which means the stuff won't print out as it should, so I need to know how I can go about finding or downloading this font.
Any help would be appreciated.

You should just be able to copy the font file(s) over to the old computer.
It/they should be in C:\windows\fonts and be called something like ravie.ttf
There may be more than one file (one for each style, normal/bold/italic/bold italic) and in this case the files would be something like ravie.ttf, ravieb.ttf, raviei.ttf and raviebi.ttf0 -
copying over the files is out of the question. But I guess that I should be able to find the on the office CD, then. I'll look there and see what I can find.
No luck there, can't find anything.
Can they be downloaded from Microsofts website?0 -
couldn't find it on microsoft but did find a download site on google. I've downloaded the file to my desk top but does anyone know what I need to do with it now for it to work with Word?0

Go to Control Panel -> Fonts, and select Install New Font from the menu.0

Or you could just download the ravie font from HERE.
That's hard to read when you're drunk!

As I'd already downloaded the font from another site I just did like DVB said and the document now looks like it should.
To be honest I hadn't even noticed a Fonts file in the control panel before! But like everything, it's easy when you know how.
Thanks for your replies, you've been a great help.0
