IVF Basket

Hiya,
Bit of a strange one, but my brother and sister in law have been trying for a baby for years and have finally got their letter to start IVF treatment. I want to make them some kind of wee basket up.
So far I have bought three books about IVF, a fertility crystal and a few smelly candles. Can anyone think of anything else I can put it. It is just a wee way of saying we are thinking of them and funds are tight so need cheap items (plus basket is small so can't fit a lot in...lol). Also don't want baby items as such just in case things don't work out although we have everything crossed for them as we know how hard it is as we tried for 7 years for our wee one....xx

I assume they would already own fertility books especially as they are starting the treatment. The fertility crystal and scented candles sound lovely though.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

What a fab idea my friend did Ivf how about some nice bath things or massage oils it's important to chill as much as possible during Ivf as it's a stressful process at times so things to help them relax are good

Are you sure they'd appreciate it? I wouldn't have.
If your going for any massage oils make sure they are safe during pregnancy.0 -
Maybe some pre- pregnancy vitamins. I took them in my run up to ivf. Or zita west has an ivf cd that's p.pular,Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.0

We had 5 goes at IVF unfortunately not successful( adopted instead) , and I too don't think I would appreciate an IVF hamper. Why not pick something they both like doing such as a movie hamper? It would take their mind off it. IVF is so stressful and they could take offense. I know you mean well and you may know them very well but people react differently at such a difficult time.My secret fantasy is having 2 men....

I know exactly what you mean about not liking it, as although we didn't have to go as far as that in the end, I hated people talking about it and would have hating this myself. However, they are totally different and will like it.
Maybe I didn't explain it very well, but I don't want it to so much be a "Make A Baby" basket, as a relax hamper.
They don't have any books on the subject but have often mentioned various ones that they have seen but not had the pennies to buy so I think they will like them.
Oh, I really hope I haven't offended anyone on here as I really didn't mean to....xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Oh, also this is not for Christmas. It is just a wee present for now, but I thought I would post it on this board as I know hampers are really popular on here and thought some people might have some wee ideas...xx;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0

I don't think you've really offended anyone just gotten people's opinions! I agree with OP's I wouldn't have liked it either but the relaxation hamper sounds great. If they mention the books again why not suggest a "wish list" on Amazon? Or go to the library! Or charity shops (you'd be amazed what books end up in charity shops):starmod:If you dance with the devil, the devil don't change. The devil changes you:starmod:0

I've done 9 rounds of IVF and would have hated it I'm afraid.
But if you are sure the recipients will like it then that is what matters.
Hope it goes well for the hamper and your friends2 angels in heaven :A0 -
I think it's a lovely idea and I would have liked it. How about a comedy or other film you know they'd like for them to watch together, IVF is tough of relationships and this would be something to help them relax. Everything crossed for them both x0
