Hi thereall, would like some advice on best place to re-mortgage? Currently with halifax on 5.4% but this will change to a variable next month and with bank of england rates rising i don't consider this a good mortgage to stay with.
Looking for something with minimal fees and fixed rate?
thanx in advance

You need to see a whole of market broker as it is against forums rules to recommend any particular one here.
I would do it sooner rather than later though as it normally takes 4-6 weeks for the remortgage to take place.0 -
Have you also found out what Halifax can offer you going forward, obviously apart from variable rate0

they've got a 3 yr fixed rate at 5.69% currently0

If they are like my bank then they will send you some offers in an attempt to keep you as a customer.0

I agree with KTF. Halifax seem to have no interest in hanging on to existing customers. Have just remortaged away from them to much better fixed rate, lower fee too than they had.0

I have just this week gone on to a life time tracker 0.18% above the BOE base rate with no fee. I like the thought of not having to change every 2/3 years but we will just have to see what interest rates do.0

Luke, you don't have to keep the lender a secret - I presume that it's Woolwich/Barclays given the rate you quote?0

Yeah thats right mate.0

It's still an amazing deal and it's been available for a good while now. I keep saying to people that it's worth considering in most circumstances - except for those who MUST have a fixed rate, I suppose.0
