Santander rules

Santander HQ cannot "repatriate" a penny from Santander UK without the prior approval of the PRA. It is unlikely that the PRA would agree to any money flowing out of a UK regulated bank because none of them are presently satisfactorily capitalised.
Santander HQ can, however, issue edicts on what sort of business any of their subsidiaries engage in.
As an aside, the UK and Spanish operation of Santander pale into insignificance compared with their Latin America presence.0 -

It does not mention "Bankrupt, IVA...or DMP"
Being black and white, I am right :-)
It says you are not eligible to apply if "You have never been declared bankrupt or subject to an IVA" so it does mention bankruptcy.
But this instruction is just about eligibility to apply. Any application would still need to meet their lending policies based on a credit score and a rejection does not need to be accompanied with a reason. It seems to me the staff were just telling you that any application you made would be rejected since a DMP would still count as a having a poor credit history so have a low credit score. DMPs are still failures to pay debts and will affect your credit score.Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.0 -
Caz3121 That's my problem really, never even turned the PC on, and they said, nope!
As for my credit reports, these defaults have rolled off, so my credit history now shows me as a clean and reformed person :-)
Good news is, I had a moan to Santander, and they are running a credit check on me tomorrow, now if they say no, fair enough.
But just to state NO, without looking at me on my 'now' good merit. Frustrated me.0 -
Small victory for common sense today! Had my credit check, and the application flew through, so I can today start looking for a house!
My advise to people who have learnt the hard way (Like me), keep going, there is light at the end of the tunnel, and the darkness will pass, but it is up to you as an individual to take charge of your finances, listen to others, but make up your own mind with an informed decision, for every wrong person, or person you don’t agree with, there is one who will listen, who will understand and will care. And one who will give you that chance you were looking for.
And that’s all I asked for, a chance J
Thanks for all who took the time to read, and give opinions, I have been looking at this forum for years, and the positive comments on here, which can be hard to find sometimes, has enabled me to hope for today. A great day J
