why are people adding advents to main board but not to advent thread?
theres loads since last night. OYL i said people would argue/ whinge about the advents but not lift a finger to help. and it isnt even december yet. id add them but im using an ipod! not easy. annoys me when people blindly enter and thank posts but dont help others, not just OYL but people using the advent thread. and why put the word advent in your post if ur not going to add it to the thread? theres no point to that thread im telling ya.

I was just thinking I hadn't bookmarked very many, then yesterday and today my folders have started overflowing :eek: Think I'm going to have to start being more selective, oops.

It's the same when I ask why don't people link to daily's thread. People post comps on main board then abandon them.

I got my head chewed off & was told quiet firmly they weren't going to do it.

Mcclarkie made a Video to help the people who don't know how to do it but no one has attempted to try & do it

I have been linking all the advents that were just left upto yesterday morning.

I am shattered today so have not done it today.

But just wanted to say I know exactly how you are feeling. I now kick the sofa & don't bother asking people to help any more it's just waiting your time

I'll try and link when I can but this annoying real life thing keeps getting in the way - work, children insisting on eating, it's really quite ridiciulous!

I don't think you long time compers realize how daunting this place can be. I've listed 3 or 4 competitions, and I agonized over getting each listing just right, and worried I would do it wrong and mess something up. I wouldn't necessarily know if the comp I listed should also be cross-listed somewhere else, or how to do it. There are just so many threads and so much to remember, it can be very challenging.

I agree totally. You can PM any BG or anyone on here to ask for help & we will be willing to help.

It's actually some of the regular compers that don't link to places that should be.

It's not actually the beginner compers & I would not expect a beginner comper to know how to do that

Most people are helpful. It's just a few that wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire. Who knows why that is. Anyway, I knew that when I took it on that it would be people who were the problem, not the actual running of the thread.

Tbh though, I still think I have it easier than those running the dailies.

And no, I wouldn't expect newbies to figure it out and post oodles of comps or help out

Well the Advents are almost upon us so from 1st Dec, I will be setting my alarm to wake me early so start early! I usually hate the first week until I get into a routine and decipher which Advents are worth entering and which are not and which I can enter early and which I have to wait until later. I have butterflies but I feel excited at the same time! Putting my tree and decorations up tomorrow so I have Sunday 1st free to get organsied! Eeeek
