Ther are lovely rose bushes and I'm sure there is one called Golden Wedding which would be a great gift that flowers every year.

When my grandparent had their golden wedding we made a hamper with all foods golden like Golden shred Marmaleade, All Gold chocolates, Golden syrup, Golden churn butter, etc etc, a trip around a supermarket will give you lots of ideas.

You can buy something each week for a few weeks and the cost is spread, my grandparents loved the thought that went into it and enjoyed the contents.

    Just an idea!

For my parents' golden wedding I bought them a bottle of champagne with gold flakes in it from VomFass (they do mini bottles as well as full size), and a ceramic handmade vase decorated with real gold from a local potter (I could get her details for you if you like) which cost 390 I think. My parents were really pleased with both of those.

My brother took them out for a vair posh meal at some top restaurant in london which, as far as i know, did not involve any gold!

I also still plan to make them a textile artwork using gold and cream fabrics and extiles but it is still in the planning stage.

There's a lady on Facebook called "hearts desire" she makes the most beautiful hand painted plaques etc.
for my mum and dad's golden, I had made a "mr & mrs walker est.1962" wall plaque, and they loved it.
My sister made a scrapbook with 50 pages, with photos for each page showing what went on, eg holidays, kids born, grand kids etc.

You could buy inexpensive gold leaf from a craft shop to rub onto parts of a plaque like this for the gold anniversary theme.

We've already managed to get some Vodka with gold leaf flakes in it ( we're more Voddie than Champers people :o lol) but i might look into this as it would be a nice touch.

Never have i been so impressed by a forum as i am right now- so many ideas that i hadn't considered. :T
The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(

Adding to an earlier post. Something I've seen done at a wedding was a blown up picture of the couple, but with a wide border and all the guests were invited to add personal messages around the edges. It was covered by the end of the night and a really lovely memento for them.

The golden hamper sounds brilliant. It would easy to get gold bits to go in it this time of year with gold tinsel and cellophane with gold bits in it to cover the basket, big gold bow and even gold spray paint for the basket. OP as you have the vodka you could do a basket around that with gold shredded paper, gold rimmed glasses, personalised coasters from ebay, large chocolate bars with personalised wrappers etc. I found an example doing a google search.
