Winter Wonderland - Hyde Park

Hi everyone,

If you are looking for a nice, romantic FUN filled day/evening I highly recommend a trip to winter wonderland.

I went mid December last year and its just fantastic - IT DOES GET BUSY.... But its so nice, wrapped up warm, drinking warm mulled wine and taking in the festivities...

It really is such a lovely event and it runs for 2 months... There is lots of great food, rides, stools, shops, bars, restaurants etc... Its all put up just for this 2 month period and grows every year.

i went to one of the first events years ago and its about twice the size now.

Type Winter Wonderland Hyde Park into Google and you cant miss.

ABSOLUTELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)

Me and my partner will be going in December hehe

It is fun at Winter Wonderland, but as Be Nice has said it is expensive. It is quieter during the day, but after dark it does look very pretty with all the lights on. I personally think ice skating at Somerset House is nicer but you can prebook now for skating at Winter wonderland.

  • It has quite a commercial feeling and can be expensive depending on what you do while you're there. It can also get outrageously busy at peak times.

Having said all that, I went on a rainy weekday evening close to Christmas last year and enjoyed drinking mulled wine and wheat beer in one of the heated, covered areas while watching people dodge raindrops outside!

Indeed, the crowd control is typically very poor. I once found myself simply unable to move for a good 20 minutes. If you have any claustrophobic tendencies then avoid!
