A good business plan template?

Just gathering some info as I am considering a small business venture into the New Year.
Well, two questions if I may, firstly can anyone recommend a good business plan template, one that asks all the right questions-possibly one I could eventually present to a business banking manager?

Also,is there a need for a solicitor when starting a asmall business? If so what is their involvement?

Thanks as usual

What is the type/size/sector of the business? Ltd company or sole trader? What are you hoping the bank manager will do?

Fact is they don't lend money to small businesses without assets to cover the debt, so for a small business you're looking at starting up under your own capital. If you're not looking to borrow money, then your business plan only needs to make sense to you, if you get my drift.

HSBC is a good template, even if you don't bank with them. There are few templates on their business site.

Just remove their logos if you're looking for support from elsewhere :)

As per this, it depends what your plan is to how much work you need to put into this.

I never did a specific business plan as it was my money going in, I just checked if it could work per unit and didn't take too much stock and all worked out just fine.

The plan just evolved as time went on and is what I am doing now.

I know if I needed investors I could put together a good plan with projected growth but right now its really not needed.

    Brilliant-thank you

I have one more question -how do I find out about business start up 'workshops' in my local area which I think I'd find very useful?
