Too late to change supplier to be eligible for Warm Home Discount?

Hello all, just after some advice
I'm currently with EDF Energy for electricity and gas. The last two years I have received the Warm Home Discount, as I was getting ESA Support Group and DLA.
Some companies also offer the discount if you're on a low income, which I am, being now on ESA asessment rate (possibly/probably JSA).
I basically cannot afford to use the heating at all, and hot baths must sadly be a once a week luxury. The ironic thing is that last year I was in a much better position to pay the bills precisely because of the ESA SG and DLA!
Anyway I was wondering if I changed supplier now, would I be eligible for the discount? Or do you need to have been with the company a certain amount of time?

I too recieved the discount and have recently switched, before i did i rang up and asked when they paid it. They said in march bills, and the cut off period was on jan 31.So if i still fitted their t&cs, which i checked that i was, i would still get it. i will apply online but i have to wait for a elect number when they have moved me onto their tariff. As they are still having waiting times on phones i will wait some more time before asking if they can supply me with a number before this time just in case. So just make sure whoever you go with you comply with their t&cs as every one has differenti criteria. The company is the one that has to be on the scheme on a certain time, june this year i think, not you. You can check this on home heat helpline website. I hope this helps you.0

I know British Gas are keeping their WHD open till 31st January 2014. The only problem you may have in switching to another supplier is you have to wait till you are on supply to be assessed.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
