I was expecting a parcel to be delivered from Amazon by Royal Mail.
It turned up on time and in perfect condition.
The postie was wearing a standard Royal Mail uniform but the van he delivered it from was plain white rather than Royal Mail red.
Am I entitled to compensation?

So what you are saying is that if a RM van breaks down and they have not got an available RM van you expect the postman to carry all the parcels on his back to deliver them that way as if he cant do this you want compensation if they have to use a hire van.
I think you need to get out more.0 -

yes its disappointing this thread. I have come to expect better from Azari but this thread is not up to his usual standard of craicThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You shouldn't have accepted it.
Happened to me last week. Some guy turned up, exactly the same, in uniform but generic white van. I refused to sign and he gave me a 'while you were out' card, and I drove out of town and picked it up from the 'proper' depo, with the red logo signs up and red vans all parked outside.
But it's lucky I noticed rather than just signed for it.0 -
Wow, the same thing happened to me. I ordered the moon on a stick ten years ago (a present for my wife). It was a rip off 75p in a shop down town, but I got it online for a bargain 73p. The royal mail van was not red.
Can I claim compensation as it has caused me a great deal of trauma?
I think £100,000 plus a trip up the GPO tower would be the least they could do.
I think I've got them under SOGA - I read somewhere on here that if the postie's van isn't red you are entitled to a lot. I blame big greedy businesses, not me being selfish and unreasonable at all.
I also ordered a PDF and they sent it by email - is that even legal?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
