I moved into this house 12months ago and it had both a pre-payment gas and electric meter. I did not owe any money where i last lived , but left these meters in the new house , due to a lot of messing to get them changed at the time. I rang the relevant companies (trans co and the electric one) to find out the suppliers of gas and electric to the property ,then rang the relevant companies and they supplied the cards for the meters. For 12 months i have used these cards on the meters , only to get a letter this morning from N-Power asking for occupier details. I rang and said " you should have all that info from when you sent out my card , only to be told that they didnt supply the gas , but supplied the electric ! (I have a card for Powergen for the electric. )So i said well i didnt pick these cards out of thin air you sent me the gas card, so WHO supplies my gas ? British gas it seems! So i have a Powergen card to pay electric that should be N-Power and a gas card paying N-power that should be British gas. I was told and confirmed that these companies were the suppliers and THEY have sent me the cards. What do i do now ? Also its possible that i might have been greatly overcharged from the settings on the meters as i dont owe anything to anyone ,HOW do i find out if they owe me ? Any advice welcome please!
