forgot to cancel standing order

Hi,
I have just moved out of a rented property. With everything going on I was to late to cancel the standing order for rent to the estate agent. Money for rent has been paid today. I have been in today and they say the account lady is off but she is back in tomorrow and have sent her an email.
Are they likely to be funny about returning the payment? Can they say ''sorry its your fault we are going to keep it'' ?
or will they just return it with no problems?
Thanks

in certain circumstances a bank can recall a standing order if it has left your account today....you will need to contact them and possibly go to a branch to confirm the recall it might also be a good opportunity to cancel the standing order to avoid the same thing happening next month. If that is not possible then you will need to wait for the money to be credited to the EA who should return it but that could take several days and may be towards the end of next week that you finally get your money backfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

have been onto the bank they say it is to late to recall it. But have cancelled the S.O. now. Just wasn't sure legally where I stood in getting it back. But i presume this happens on a regular basis.
