Amex Application Cancelled - should I bother with appeal?

Amex are pretty strict with acceptance criteria. They generally like big spenders that pay off in full from their large salaries and often charge a fee for many of their cards. I would be very surprised if they even considered you as a student or with limited credit history. I wouldn't apply again for a while. Whilst they are a great company to deal with , it is just a credit card so I would look to a cash back card instead from someone else.
