Car seat for Mazda MX5

Does anyone have an MX5 and a child seat.

I am picking my MX5 up tomorrow and want to know whether or not you can fit a child seat in the front seat, otherwise I will only be able to use the car for work and not to take the little one out in too.

This is not our main car - we have a Toyota Corolla Verso so I wanted something a bit more fun. I currently have a britax isofix seat in that for my 20mth old but don't know if it will be too big to fit in the MX5.

Thanks for your help

Probably worth asking at the owners club forum...

It will probably depend on the age of the MX-5 as newer ones will have airbags that will possibly need to be disabled.

  • I have a rear-facing carseat for the MX5 which deactivates the passenger airbag (for up to 12 months or so only). Only trouble is I need a front-facing one now and Mazda seem to have stopped doing ones for the MX5
