Does that mean its not knackered due to the sweat and it is faulty?
Lost the point to the maths!

I think it means that if OP is sweating that much, it's not normal and no wonder the mattress has failed ;)

Although, I have to admit, I thought 10 years out of a mattress was pretty good going, that seems to be the recommended replacement time is 5-7 years.

Even Tempur themselves say 10-15 years, so you're right on the button OP. If you didn't sweat quite so much maybe it would have made it to 15 years.

10 years is the expected life of a mattress anyway

OK they can last longer, particularly if looked after properly, but it isn't an expectation

My point is Tempur sell a mattress they know breaks down with moisture.

The maths was to prove the point (and to show how I got to it), but yes, his argument is that it's not fit to be a mattress because it can't absorb all the sweat. My point is that there's very little sweat being produced, so he's barking up the wrong tree.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

    So the outcome.

Tempur rep visited. As the damage was all over top surface including edges (where you cannot sleep) it was a warranty claim. Had the damage been specific to the sleeping areas it would not have been covered. (Explained by rep).

So to our surprise we then get a call from the store telling us Tempur has refused the warranty. The store offered to match the Tempur warranty!, but we had already decided we did not want to give any more money to Tempur.

The store are good and have a good reputation locally. They ended up heavily discounting our new purchase.

Just be aware Tempur have a problem with the material they use. It is covered by a sewn sheet so you cannot see faults developing without removal (in which case you risk the warranty being void!). Very clever pricing and warranty! Having said that for the first few years it was the most comfortable mattress we have had.
