I'm following the news about Cryptolocker with interest as I usually support PCs for friends and family. This thread has pretty much covered all the bases but I thought it worth re-emphasizing the need to backup AND THEN DISCONNECT the backup device (be it NAS, USB or other "mapped" drive - ie. one that appears with a letter before it in Windows Explorer such as G: H: N: etc etc) as the virus will encrypt your backup files too if they're still accessible when it runs.
