    Afternoon,

    Productive day....

Foxgloves: Maybe you thought the rat would frighten away the mouse.

    The List 2:

:D Checked Payslip. Allocated funds for the week.

    :D Checked online banking.

:D Checked TopCashBack for payments. £1.76 tracked for getting a home insurance quote.

:D OH has been offered two job interviews.

:D Did Ipsos surveys. 60% of the way to a £10 voucher.

:D Checked for mystery shopping opportunities.

    :D Cleared emails.

:D Did Nectar AdPoints. If I see another advert for that flippin' zoo...

:D Pleased I managed a whole week at work without spending a single thing in a vendy or the canteen.

    And last but not least...

:D Negotiated a promotion after a week in my new job! It seems I was talent-spotted. Moving into Performance Management/Troubleshooting combining my two favourite disciplines: mathematics and coaching. It's still only temporary but the money is better. Same location, near home. Celebrated by spending £2 in Greggs. I was very strong and didn't spend £20 in lovely looking cafe. Hoping to start new post next week, waiting for a phone call to confirm. (All I ever do lately is wait all day for people to phone be back "within an hour"!)

Ally - haha, no I didn't think of that. No further sightings of the mouse, though I did hear it dancing around at the back of the washing machine cupboard the other day, which doesn't sound as though it's been exactly troughing its face with mouse bait, does it? Hmmmm. Never mind, I am about a billion times better with mice than anything in the arachnid line. I can get an adrenalin response from a piece of black thread on the floor!
2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
    2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

    Evening campers!

    Thanks for the kick-off NTBY
Ally - excellent work on the promotion!
Foxgloves - I know it was yesterday but am also sorry to hear about the window.

After I signed off on Wednesday night, I had a phone call from OH. Seems some delightful scum bags pinned a firework to our car, blowing off the windscreen wiper and cracking the windscreen :(

Need to look at insurance documents to see if can be fixed on cheap or just easier to do without the insurance company. But that's tomorrow's job. EDIT - ended up looking as was on the computer. Good job I did as it says that you have to report it within 48 hours! The excess is £80 so is all sorted and they are coming to fix on Wednesday :)

Yesterday I had a long training day, went out for an anniversary dinner and then a very disturbed night's sleep due to OH's departure. Today I am looking forward to day 1 of OH's Brazil adventure. i.e. some "me" time pottering around the house at my leisure :)

    Today's dfw things
    • B/D from stores
    • L bought with Boots points
    • Worked 1 hour overtime
    • Reconciled spreadsheet to reflect last night's spend
    • Free biscuits, courtesy of colleague
    • Lazy evening watching a nice dvd and munching food from cupboards.
    • Really tired after yesterday so early night
    Not so good things
    • Heating on for first time. It is cold but am more worried about the house getting cold and damp than my personal temperature. Heating on low and for 2 hours only. House freaking me out with the creaking
A very simple one from me today. I am going to enjoy relaxing and sleeping after a very stressful week.

Have a good one all :)

    • No heating on
    • Claimed expenses from work
    • Invoiced on time (!!!!)

    Good Evening My Lovelies

ntby - Thanks for starting us off today

Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

Well, I have had a fantastic (and somewhat spendy day BUT they dont happen every day now and all paid for no cards used), we went out for a family meal and then my lovely step-daughter took me to the theatre to see "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" (we have a lovely relationship and she takes me at least once a year - makes me feel really lucky for the life and family I have ). So todays (feeble) little list:

    Check Banks - Done
    Check swapits - Done
    General Tidy up - Done
    Check www.freepostcodelottery.com - Done
    Breakfast from stores - Done
Pay cheques into bank - Done
Buy large white vinegar - Done
Read Book (from library) - in progress

Hope you have all had a good day, love to you all.

    C xx
