Icesave & Basic Bank Accounts

Hi, I am looking to open an icesave account. Site says you need to have a current account that can have direct debits going in and out. I have a basic bank account with the Natwest, that does accept payments in and out by direct debit. Does anyone know if this account would be acceptable. I do have a natwest current account (Advantage gold) but this is a joint account, and yes underhandedly would like to keep the Icesave account quite.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

If it accepts direct debits it will work with Icesave.
