Berlin Schonefeld to Ostbahnhof train Station

Could someone tell me the distance from the Berlin Schonefeld airport to the Ostbahnhof train Station.

Could I walk or are there any interconnecting shuttles of any sort?

Thank You

Walk??! Like walking Heathrow to Leicester Square.

From the Airport, follow the well marked path to the trin & tram station. Most everything will go to Ostbahnhof. Trains are less frequent, but much faster, and the same price.

**Get your tickets from the helpful, multi-lingual men near the self-service machines in the airport where you come out. Once you get to the station itself, there is NO ticket office, only a couple of complicated machines with no assistance, and massive queues. Ticket inspectors on Berlin trains are common and will happily give you a massive penalty fare!*

From the airport terminal go to the S-Bahnhof (5 minutes walk).

Take 'S 9' to Spandau (only goes one direction, Schönefeld is where the train terminates/starts). Trains leave every 20 minutes. Timetable:

Ostbahnhof is 11 stops, 31 minutes away from Schönefeld.

You have to get a ticket from the wending machines and then cancel it on the platform, before you start your journey.
