Hi.
Is there a way to report an iPod as stolen?
I don't think it is registered on the find my... system.
Unlikely to get it back, but it would be good to stop the toe-rag who nicked it being able to use it.

  • Unless it's the latest iPod and you've installed iOS7 and enabled Activation Lock, then no chance.

    Thought so.

I think it's on IOS7, and it's got a screen lock code on it.

    What's an activation lock?

The things is if someone gets it and tries to activate it, you'd think that Apple might register the fact...

...that it could have been sold, given as a present, or one of several other things. They don't know why an iPod is being re-registered, that why they put things like the activation lock in place.

It was in your iCloud settings on the device, bottom one was "Find My iPhone".
If you had that switched on, then log in to icloud.com and lock the ipod.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Sure, but if you have a crime reference number listing it as stolen, then that should be a validation, as opposed to just selling it, etc.

    Anyway, lesson to learn...

You could try contacting Apple, letting them know the serial number of the iPod and giving them the crime reference number, but it's doubtful they will be able to do anything. Equally, the police won't contact Apple with that information.
