No Bill from NPower since 13th March
Rang npower this morning yet again about lack of electricity bill since 13th march 2013. First call 10-30 a.m. went through their security system and put on hold for twenty minutes listening to elevator music before being cut-off! Second call same thing happened, cut-off again, only fifteen minutes this time! Third time they put me onto a 'phone that rang out but no one answered for five minutes-so rang a different number found on the bill. This time a REAL PERSON answered and I recognised her "geordie accent" as the same lady I spoke to in July when I first rang about this fiasco. The problem appears to revolve around our flat having both a standard tariff meter and an off-peak tariff meter and npower's systems? can no longer cope with this scenario. Once again this same lady explained that they were having great difficulty raising bills based on two-metered supply -as she did in July- but that she would forward the current readings I gave her to the " back office"??? so that their people could raise a bill (hopefully) in 28 days! Having been in this flat now for 17 years next month without any problems - bills wise - going back to the dear old YEB days I am staggered that an organisation such as npower cannot come up with a system that can cope with two meters as we have had all the time I have been in this flat. Then again having seen the collection of "slime-balls" before the MP's committee yesterday "lying through their back teeth" - with the exception of the Ovo energy MD - I can understand how my situation has arisen. Customer service, what a joke! If it wasn't so sad it would be funny,so I'll nip down to the bookies, put my Pension Credit on my bill NOT arriving within 28 days and maybe - just maybe - win enough to actually pay it when it does eventually arrive in the NEW YEAR!!

I've had enough of these firms not able to do the simplest tasks...... So I decided to do something about it and set up a e-petition. Please consider signing.

I'm in the same position, I am showing a big credit balance as they are apparently unable to process my bills. Their website states my next bill will be in February.
Added to this they are now taking a different DD to that stated and thereby breaking the DD guarantee.
Finally they missed a gas safety inspection appointment (sending me an email reminding ME of the appointment half an hour before the appointment slot was due to end). Promised me a cheque of £22 both verbally and by letter and then sent me £20, I take it the £2 is me paying their idiot tax?
I have complained three times in the last two months and have yet to hear anything but an automated reply, is this normal?
I want to go elsewhere, I cannot believe that all energy companies are this incompetent. Is there a set period I have to give them to sort my account out?
Thanks
Tim
Steve...signed your petition0 -
I have (had) the same issue. Due a bil 8th Aug, told me they can't produce one. I raised a complaint and heard nothing, so after 28 days I called them, got cut off the first time after 20 mins, rang back, said they were still dealing with the issue.
I then got the 10% increase letter so I proceeded to switch suppliers.
Npower are absolutely useless0 -
Same here. I haven't had a bill or a meter reading since I switched to them last December.
The tariff I am on has exit penalties but as soon as the 12 months are up, I am switching to a company that knows its ärse from its elbow.0 -
We'll I am amazed at how few people are prepared to sign a petition!0

maybe it needs its old thread?0

Signed your petition, Steve.
Only 99,995 signatures to go and we've got ourselves a Parliamentary debate. No doubt the bills WILL start arriving on time when this happens haha.0 -
Make sure you report this to your bank. Npower don't seem to be very good at complying with the DD gurantee so the more complaints banks get about them the more likely NPower will be forced into acting.I'm in the same position, I am showing a big credit balance as they are apparently unable to process my bills. I can't say if it's normal, but I can say that it matches my experience. I found they usually don't even bother to reply. My advice is to send a letter recorded delivery and headed "Complaint". Keep the confirmation number for the post office so that if they claim they didn't recieve it (as was the case for me), you have proof that it did (and can see the signature, too). You can then raise it with the Ombudsman if you've not heard anything 8 weeks after they received it.
*IF* it is being handled as a complaint then they have 8 weeks to sort it out. Then you can raise it with the Ombudsman who can force them to act (within 28 days I think it is).I want to go elsewhere, I cannot believe that all energy companies are this incompetent. Cheers for those that sign. I know more than the number shown have signed, there seems to be some possibility that people don't get their confirmation email?!
Not sure if the gogovernment are also not able to run IT, or whether they're in cahoots with the energy companies?!!
The petition does have it's own thread, but it takes people to know about it, so putting it where people are having problems seems to be sensible. Npower were the main problem for me, but first utility were still unable to do things properly.
I too hold out hope that the 100k is met!!
Thanks to those who have and if you didn't get a confirmation email then you can request one from the petition page.
All the best for your own cases, Steve
Ps. I didn't name companies in the petition as it would not have been cleared.0 -
We've had no bill for over a year.0
