Mr P I am only the gate keeper as they say..not mine to spend and talking to the Old Man, that is our name for him, I just know he would come and haunt me if I didn't behave myself - although I suspect if he could hear rhese people talk he would never had been associated with them!
In that case, give each of them a £5 book token on the due date, this could go on for years and you don't want the money to run out

LEJC's are nice ideas - I need to find something along the same lines suitable for older people and not expensive....Thats what the Old Man would have wanted! (Some will not like it)!0

I was thinking vouchers as OP doesn't need extra criticism for his choice of gift.
It seems a solicitor has been involved to date. Perhaps clarification in writing from that solicitor would help then OP could copy it to anyone pressurising him.0 -

You can tell them exactly that OP, if they are already being difficult over it now. As for the money lasting a long time, if it is not a specific term of the will, if I were you given the aggro you are getting from them I would divide it equally among their birthdays for the coming year and be done with it!0 -

without being to intrusive...what sort of budget do you have for each person
I seem to have a good few members of family who have thrown "curved ball wishes " as pointers when giving inheritance so the odd requests dont really phase me that much now!......
Could you consider things like plants or trees for the garden that will provide a lasting memory
Maybe something like a set of royal mint coins could be given,or something that would remind the receiver of times spent with the relation in the past...vintage retro sweets,a copy of a comic they used to have a dvd of a film that would hold memories for either something they liked or the deceased liked.
Did they come from a particular part of the country that produced something local..thinking along the lines of pork pies from melton mowbray,cider from the west country,cheese etc
we had one relation who loved the colour yellow and a lot of her will and bequests followed that theme...did the relation have a hobby or interest that could be explored ton give the older members something linked to his hobbies/passions/interests etc .
If someone even sent me a box of cupcakes on my birthday and a tea bag(or even a box of teabags and a cupcake if it were the cheaper option!) I would appreciate the thought and take time to sit and remember them fondly!!!!
Clearly if these beneficiaries still continue to remain unhappy with the suggestions you put forward tell then that of course if they do not wish to accept the bequest then they have every right to relinquish their share.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
