I've had multiple attempted trades fail for no reason (including my first ever trade with them, meaning I had to call them and beg for them to do the trade for me!). Basically, you really do get what you pay for with this platform. Maybe they're trying hard, but the fact that you can't rely on the platform is a major issue. You can't buy on margin, can't sell short, and if you're really lucky you may be able to go long. I really wanted them to impress me, but I'll be taking my business (and significant trading flow) elsewhere.
I agree i've been trying to trade all morning and all i get is the below in bold, can anyone recommend a reliable one where when you make a trade and it goes through first time,or is this a common problem in share trading ? ( as i'm new to all this )
Getting worse, i have seemed to have made a sucessful deal only to find when i go back and check my account that the deal never actually went through.

This is very dissappointing! I had an account with Selftrade and was very happy with it - until they introduced the inactivity fee. I thought it was breach of contract too. I'd bought quite a few shares and was enjoying the experience of seeing the divs accumulating but when they brought in the inactivity fee I wanted to get out. It was £9 per quarter and my divs were only a little above that. so there was no point really. Then selling small shares would have cost me a lot. So I transferred to Hoodlessbrennan because they had no inactivity fee. Now it looks like I have to pull everything out again and go back to Selftrade. What a lot of costly disappointment. I wish they make up their minds, and stick to it. I just don't like the 'whip'. I can't share the sympathy expressed here. These guys are very rich...0

I am a small time investor with limited knowledge of the markets & because of this I decided to pay for Hoodless Brennan’s advisory service in March 2009 as I already had a dealing account with them.
The Broker contacted me in early June 2009 to advise me to buy into a company called Timestrip (TIME) which is an AIM listed company. From the day I purchased £1000 of the stock it fell in value against the back drop of the biggest market rally seen in recent history & kept falling from £2.00 to 30p.
During the fall in price the advisory broker did not contact me once even though the Timestrip share price was still above £1 for a few weeks after the director Stephen Oakes had been forced to resign due to his Directorship at another company called Falcon securities which had gone into receivership & had not been disclosed.
Surprisingly Falcon securities was also a stock broker with a terrible reputation that sold high risk shares to private investors and that was connected to Hoodless Brennan who had advised investors to buy shares in this company as well.
I then decided to look at who was behind timestrip & came up with the name Leo Knifton who had also set up Falcon securities. I googled the name Leo Knifton and found numerous post about his terrible reputable for taking companies into liquidation in boiler room posts and blogs on the internet & then found 20 companies that he had taken into liquidation without any success stories.0
