Best Time To Book With Last Minute

I need a hotel in London for 2 nights on the weekend of the the 23rd November.
I have booked before but very last minute with them and got some good deals.
This time I have already booked the tickets for the event so I definitely need a hotel as central as possible.
When is the best time to book? I have had a look tonight but they all seem a bit expensive compared to what I have paid before.
Is it better to wait till a week or so before?
Thanks in advance.

I don't find it makes much difference personally, I have always found their prices to be fairly static. They can in fact go up nearer the time, which is the risk you take.
I presume you have already checked on search comparison sites like trivago as I often find other websites cheaper than lastminute anyway....0 -
Lastminute are just a travel/booking agent, and by no means always cheapest.
Be cautious around 'mystery hotels' as well, it's possible to stay in some pretty poor places which sound a bargain at 80% off, but their rack rates were completely unrealistic to begin with (in line with the Dorchester in price, not quality terms). This is why I switched to trivago who aggregate all the agencies prices but you can see which hotel you're booking and make an informed decision. Not all discounters get all offers, trivago found some late deals with one agent that the others didn't have, saving £50/night.0
